Lynka Takes on New Strategic Partner, Berendsohn AG
We are very pleased to announce that Lynka Sp. z o.o. has recently concluded a deal with a new strategic partner.
This promotional industry investor – Berendsohn AG of Hamburg - will provide Lynka with both strategic support and a strong financial base to grow and develop the business across Europe. At the same time, Lynka’s hitherto financial backers, Hanseatic Finance / Arco Capital, have fully exited the business on August 12.

Lynka and Berendsohn will continue to operate as separate business units under their own respective brands. However, the combination of Lynka’s apparel expertise and Berendsohn’s impressive promotional goods experience, together with a strong financial base, will considerably strengthen the position of each of these companies in the European promotional products industry.

Berendsohn CEO, Jorn Lambertz stated: “As a world-class apparel player, Lynka is a perfect fit for Berendsohn, from both a cultural and a strategic perspective. I am very pleased to become partners with John and to welcome Lynka into the Berendsohn family.”

John Lynch, Lynka founder said “I am so pleased that Lynka has found Berendsohn as our strategic partner for the future. I couldn’t have wished for a better, more professional and financially sound partner. Having worked closely with the Berendsohn team in putting this deal together for many months now, I have the utmost respect for Jörn Lambertz and his team. I can already see the cultural fit and tremendous opportunities between our two companies. Our strategy at Lynka remains the same – to dynamically grow our business via Europe’s premium one-stop-shop apparel solution, and our award winning decoration and services. Berendsohn’s strong financial standing will enable Lynka to pursue more effectively than ever before our vision of leading the way in the EU apparel industry.”

Lynka will continue to be headed and co-owned by John Lynch, who founded and has been CEO of Lynka for 22 years.

Background of Berendsohn

Berendsohn AG is one of the leading companies active on the promotional products and gifts market with its headquarter in Hamburg.

The company was founded in 1833 as a publishing house „B.S. Berendsohn“. Already in the early years hanseatic traders used its graphic illustrations of typical Hamburg scenes as a perfect gift for their business partners all over the world. Based on this tradition the company was re-launched by Günther Berendsohn in 1948. From then on Berendsohn concentrated on selling promotional products and exclusive gifts.

With a turnover of EUR 65 million and 20 million delivered products, Berendsohn has been maintaining its hold on the market as one of Europe's leading enterprises in this industry.

The product range comprises more than 350 promotional ideas from a classical 'give-away', such as a ballpoint pen, an exclusive and often award-winning design object to the exclusive Blue Line collection. Since 1999, Berendsohn AG has been awarded a number of international prizes for its products including the iF Design Award and the Red Dot design award. In 2006, the company expanded its product range into the sale of work wear and corporate fashion.

Activities in 11 European countries -- from Scandinavia to Italy, from Netherlands to Poland -- are coordinated from the Hamburg headquarter. Production and service center is located in the north- east of Germany at Schwerin. Launched in 1993 the production facilities were recently expanded to answer the challenges of our growing international business.
